About me: David Cot

Why I make this podcast

David Cot

My name is David Cot Cañigueral and, as you probably already know, I’m the host of The History of Spain Podcast. I was born in March 1998, in Cassà de la Selva, a town located in the province of Girona, Spain. In 2016 I moved to Barcelona to study Business management at Pompeu Fabra University.

Doesn’t sound very related to History, right? Well, I wanted to understand how businesses work and I was especially interested in marketing. I think that my knowledge of strategic thinking and digital and content marketing has helped me in many aspects, including this podcast. I started this podcast in November 2018 because as a Spaniard who loves history and his country I wanted to be the first to make a podcast in English focused on Spanish history. It was also a way to improve my English while building an online community, so it has helped me both get Cambridge’s Advanced certificate and to improve my digital skills.

Professional aspirations

One day I would love to live off podcasting, but as for now I would like to become a digital marketer. My academic and personal experience has allowed me to develop an interest for social media marketing, SEO, email marketing, content marketing, and website and e-commerce management. I would like to improve my skills in these areas and gain professional experience, helping clients and companies to connect better with their customers in the digital environment.
